A new initiative: OpenAI

Yet another of Elon Musk’s great initiatives.

In my opinion the risks of AI are exaggerated by several people. But Musk now has the right perspective: indeed, there is a danger in outsourcing responsibilities to machines. Not because they will develop into malicious evil artificial minds that will eventually intend to destroy us, but, for instance, because it puts us in a position where we loose oversight of who is responsible for what. Making AI more ‘open’ counters that risk.
